Hello everyone,
My son, Philip, is a member of the Mansfield barbershop chorus...The Fun Center Chordsmen. They will be presenting their 37 annual show on Saturday March 26th with a matinee performance at 2 pm and an evening performance at 7:30 pm. Group rates are available for groups larger than 10. Regular ticket price is $12 for adults, $5 for students K-12 for the matinee. Regular ticket price for the evening is $15 for adults, $5 for students. We are verifying that group rates are $2 off the regular price. If anyone is interested in attending and would like group rates, please email me by this Monday, the 14th, by noon. We can collect funds Monday, the 14th at gym and have your tickets to you the following Monday, the 21st at gym. My son says the show will last at least least 2 hours....possibly longer. Our teens attended last year and really enjoyed it...and for those of you with boys or teen young men....the chorus is always looking for new members. :) My son also has tickets available at the regular rate. Please respond to my email: [email protected] Just a reminder to all those interested in attending the I Am Not Ashamed Conference with Ken Ham on Monday, March 28. The program for K-6 begins at 9 AM at Crossroads Community Church in Mansfield, OH. The address is 1188 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH. There has been an excellent response to this, nearly 50 people from Ashland have indicated an interest! It's not too late, if you know of anybody else that's interested, just let me know at [email protected]. I should let the host contact know our confirmed numbers by Monday, March 21.
If anybody would like to pack a lunch, there will be rooms available for us to eat together after the presentation. If you let me know previously that you were interested in attending, you do NOT have to contact me again. But, let your friends know that there is still room for more! If you have any questions, you can view the conference flyer at http://www.crossroadswired.com/get-connected/not-ashamed-conference/. Sheila Dear ARCHE moms,
The sap ran abundantly last night so we are going to plan a field trip for tomorrow morning (Tuesday, March 1st) at 11:30am. to tour the sugar shack and see the maple syrup being boiled down in an evaporator. My husband will give an explanation and field any questions. Bring a sack lunch to eat down there and also make sure to wear mud boots. If you have any questions please call me @ 419-566-1285. If you know of anyone who may wish to come and does not get the ARCHE e-mails, please let them know as well, Thank you, Mary Dolce *Directions : Take 42 S. Pass the Ashland University swamp catwalk and take first road on left. (Bowen Rd.) Turn right on Crider Rd. Travel about 500 ft. on Crider and turn left between the Dolce Tree Service sign and a large rock at the end of the drive. Park on the gravel to the roght of drive and we will meet as a group near the office/shop. If anyone is needing encouragement in the task of raising godly children, Nancy Campbell is one of the best to strengthen and encourage you for this task through her Biblical teaching. She is the founder of Above Rubies magazine and ministry.
A ladies retreat is being held at Camp Carl in Ravenna, Ohio on April 1-3, 2011. Nancy Campbell will be the special speaker, speaking on the topic of, "THE STRATEGIES OF THE ENEMY TO STOP US IN OUR GREAT TASK OF BUILDING GODLY GENERATIONS." Cost will be $100 for adults, $85 for 12-18, and $75 for 3-11. Children are welcome to attend, however, there will be no child care. Meals are provided in the registration cost- breakfast, lunch, dinner on Saturday & breakfast and lunch on Sunday. You'll need to eat dinner before you come on Friday. We'll provide snacks at some points throughout the weekend, as well. Registration deadline is February 24th. For more information you can go to www..neohrubies.blogspot.com or contact Brianna Graber at [email protected]. She'll send you a registration form which you can print and mail back with your payment. This is a wonderful opportunity and we are blessed to have this retreat so close to home. Please sign up today to attend! Homeschoolers are planning a couple more nursing home visitations. They will be gathering at the Brethren Care Towers on March 22 and April 26 to share their musical gifts and to visit.
If you and your children would like to participate, please contact Jennifer at [email protected]. A couple of weeks ago approximately 25 homeschoolers participated in the homeschool geography fair. Students displayed reports, facts, and authentic foods from each of their respective countries. From the display on the left it may be easily recognized that much hard work was done by both student and parent(s). Thanks are due to Anita for organizing the event, which was held in the conference room at the Ashland Public Library. |
